Trip to Austin

Every other year since 1993, someone in the Jones' family has traveled to Austin, Texas to testify before the legislative committees to support various homeowner property bills.  Since the formation of the advocate groups by the Jones' family, they have been joined by other advocates across the state of Texas in Austin.

This year 2009 will begin another legislative year in Texas -- the 81st legislative session.  We are asking that homeowners across the state make the trek to Austin to voice your approval of stop homeowner association foreclosure bills such as HB899 authored by Rep. Harold Dutton and any other bill that stands up for the Texas Constitution and your property rights.

Continue to check this website to find out when homeowners are required to go to Austin to testify.  (Refer to the calendar link on the home page)

If you are a homeowner in this state or any state, you cannot afford to be apathetic and not be aware of what is going on in your Capitol during an active legislative session.  The bills that are passed affect the way we are "allowed" to live--which can either be oppressed or free.  If the advocates for the industry can show up and testify so that their bank account will continue to grow, we certainly can take the time out of our busy schedules to show up and voice either through live testimony or through a hand carried document, our voice for or against a bill that will affect our living conditions and subsequently our bank account.

Unfortunately, advocates receive serious complaints across the country all the time from homeowners who are not aware of the cut-throat tactics and vicious, malicious heavy hand control that our master-planned communities actually thrust upon innocent buyers into their communities.  While we are innocently drawn into these communities with promises of perfect lawns, perfect lives and perfect control over our neighbors, we forget that we too are neighbors and we live in an imperfect world with people who are not trained to handle a 6 or 7-figure budget with the only people trained to handle such a budget being the ones who will benefit the most from it being increased through organized abuse against the homeowners.  (The management companies and the Community Association Institute Attorneys being the biggest benefactors.)

If you want to testify in Austin through live testimony or document, please email me at harvellajones@yahoo.com for the details.  Thank you for your concern about your property and Constitutional rights.
